Pink & White
HC2012:
Legacy Moon ‘Mammoth’
x Skip Bartlett ‘White Pepper’ HCC/AOS…12-16cm… $45.00
This cross combines two of the most outstanding white/pinks in
our collection. ‘Mammoth’ is an absolutely massive flower of nearly 6
inches natural spread. It is mated with the legendary breeder Skip
Bartlett ‘White Pepper’ HCC/AOS.
An exact remake of a cross that produced one of the best
white/pinks I’ve ever bloomed, Incan Treasure ‘Quintessence’. These will
primarily be smooth pastel pink tones over a cream to white background.
Look for large cream/whites with stipples or spotting in rose across the
flower. These are one of my favorite new directions in white/pink
breeding… looking for spotted whites! (Very Limited)
HC2453: Via Vulcan Verde ‘Petticoat’ S/CSA x Skip
Bartlett ‘White Pepper’ HCC/AOS…14-18cm… $30.00
Very similar in look to the famous Orchid Zone cross of White
Knight. Flowers are cream or white in background color and are dusted
with garnet, to almost pure white.
HC2454: Bella Luna (Gege
Hughes ‘Harvest Moon’ AM/AOS x Skip Bartlett ‘White Pepper’
HCC/AOS…14-18cm.. $30.00
Another fine Skip Bartlett cross which is producing cream to white
flowers, many with lovely pastel pink overlay. These are very pretty,
and the best have fine full form.
HC2562: Luminary 'Moondust' HCC/AOS x Amandahill 'Muir
Woods' HCC/AOS 12-14cm...$45.00
Super rare cross that I
didn't expect to produce at all; there are no registered crosses to date
with Luminary. The pollen parent red has exceptional form and size and
is always a superb breeder for high quality offspring. (Very Limited)
HC2579: Izanaminomikoto (Via Muchos
Ninos ‘Full Moon’ HCC/AOS x Skip Bartlett ‘White Pepper’
HCC/AOS)…14-16cm… $35.00
A
cross of similar breeding to HC2454, Bella Luna. If you like the pastel
white/pinks, I’d highly recommend at least one of each of these two
crosses. The smooth pastel pinks are hard to find and one of my favorite
color types. *** (See if you can say the name fast five times when
ordering… without getting tongue-tied!)
J
Another Great Expectations cross, made because
our Ruth Wright x White Legacy cross turned out so great. Expect
interesting variability from pastel to vibrant pinks, over cream/white
backgrounds.
HC2675: Skip Bartlett 'Maybrook' AM/AOS x
Skip Bartlett 'White Pepper' HCC/AOS 12-14cm... $90.00
A dream cross
combining the famous 'White Pepper' cultivar with the only other Skip
Bartlett ever awarded! I can't wait to start blooming these out,
and seriously considered growing them all out. I will release only a few
of these! (Very Limited)
Gold, Green & Honey tone
HC2059:
Sheila Hanes ‘Grand
Green’ AM/AOS x Gege Hughes ‘Harvest Moon’ AM/AOS…18-22cm… $25.00
Over 200 crosses have been made with Shiela
Hanes in its parentage, and for good reason. It contributes nice color
and good size, and ‘Grand Green’ has the tallest flower spike of any
orchid in the greenhouse.
Gege
Hughes is a gorgeous
HC2162: (Sheila Hanes ‘Grand Green’ AM/AOS x Elfstone ‘Moongold’)…18-22cm… $30.00 See “Sheila Hanes” details above, and add the parentage of Elfstone. Elfstone is one of the best parents for size in the world, and should give large flowers with very tall flower spikes in clear greens and golds.
HC2164:
(Sheila Hanes ‘Grand
Green’ AM/AOS x Via Muchos Ninos ‘Full Moon’ HCC/AOS)…18-22cm… $25.00
A very similar cross
to HC2059. Both have
HC2227:
(Via Muchos Ninos
‘Full Moon’ HCC/AOS x Elfstone ‘Moongold’)…18-22cm… $30.00
Expect some large full flowers to bloom
from this cross, in both golds and brushed tones. The best of these
should have excellent size and form and look like they were sprayed with
lacquer gloss.
HC2250: (Yerba Nueva ‘San
Carlos’ HCC/AOS x Gege Hughes ‘Harvest Moon’ AM/AOS)…18-22cm… $25.00
‘San Carlos’ is nearly 17cm in natural
spread and has produce both exceptional whites and greens in the grosses
Alchemy and Holy Light, respectively. Expect both vibrant clear golds
and lovely honey gold tones.
HC2332:
(Mountain Meadow
‘Jolly’ x Via Muchos Ninos ‘Full Moon’ HCC/AOS)…18-22cm… $25.00
The enetic lineage of the pod parent,
‘Jolly’, is like a Who’s Who of great green breeders. Paired with the
beautiful Via Muchos Ninos’ Full Moon’ HCC/AOS, I have high expectations
for some very well formed green/golds.
HC2673
Unregistered
- (Gege Hughes 'Harvest Moon' AM/AOS x Lippewunder 'Leviathon')
12-16cm...$35.00
See above “Gege Hughes” description. The
pollen parent, 'Leviathon' is over 16cm across and has over 6.5cm wide
petals. There should be wonderful variations in this cross; some will
have rich all gold color throughout, many will have a chocolate crescent
or speckling in the dorsal center from the Lippewunder.
Red, Mohagany & Spotted
HC1958:
(Mach One ‘Cinco’ AM/AOS x Jenna Marie ‘Sparkle’ AM/AOS,
S/19WOC)…14-16cm… $25.00
This cross was bred for big bold spotted
flowers on tall stems and good color from the Jenna Marie pollen parent.
They should also have very strong stems that hold the flower well above
the foliage.
HC2099:
Femme Fatale (Western
Thunder ‘Storm Front’ HCC/AOS x Jenna Marie ‘Sparkle’ AM/AOS,
S/19WOC)…14-18cm… $30.00
A reverse remake of a wonderful Orchids
Royale cross, switching the pod and pollen parent. We’ve just started
blooming a few of these and the best are wonderful!
HC2291:
Star Power ‘Future
Fantasy’ x Thunder Cat ‘Sizzler’ HCC/AOS…16-20cm… $30.00
The ‘Star Power’ parent is a huge red
spotted with very fine form. Paired with the exceptional shape and color
of ‘Sizzler’, color and form should be highly dominant.
HC2294:
(
If you like solid reds with cherry red, not
cordovan, color… this is a great cross. Both parents are among the
deepest colored reds in the greenhouse, and dominant for their color.
The ones that get both color and rounded form, will be superb.
HC2328:
(Trenchant ‘
A similar cross in both parentage and
expectations to HC1958.
HC2472:
(Thunder Cat
‘Powerhouse’ x Kimura’s Present ‘Papa Aroha’)…14-18cm… $30.00
‘Powerhouse’ is a very well rounded flower
with excellent color and patterning. The pollen parent is over 15cm in
natural spread and very broad petals. This is a new direction in
breeding, in combining a dusted green/gold with a red, so I am excited
to see what new patterns and color tones will be produced.
Primary & Novelty
HC2275- delenatii 'Loveliness' x California Girl 'Big Bear' B/CSA
10-12cm ...$35.00
This is an extremely rare and hard to make
cross! The pod parent will combine with the giant California Girl, to
give rich rose/pink flowers. Expect a wide range of shapes from the
mixed genetic types. (Very Limited)
HC2402 - henryanum 'Marriott Leopard' AM/AOS x Odette's Glory 'Night
Magic' 12-14cm... $25.00
The henryanum used here is the best ever
awarded by the AOS, and the first two of this cross were incredible for
unique color and markings. It's an amazing color and pattern
combination.
Species
HC2572 spicerianum - (spicerianum 'Marriott
Quintessence' x spicerianum 'Warrior' AM/AOS) near
blooming size...$60.00
The pod parent is a superb example of this
species, over 9cm across, and almost always two flowered on a spike.
‘Warrior’ is nearly 8 1/2 cm across, has even darker green coloration,
and is the highest awarded of this species ever. Of the first to bloom
this season, two were FCC quality and a number of others were as good as
50% of the AM/AOS ones!
HC2131 villosum v. alba - (villosum v. alba ‘Sunfire’ AM/AOS x Self)
12-14cm...$150
'Sunfire' is one of only two albino forms of
this species to ever garner an AOS award. We are the first orchid
company here in the
HC2132 villosum v. alba - (villosum v. alba ‘Flat Top' x villosum v.
alba ‘Sunfire’ AM/AOS) 12-14cm...$150
This is
very similar to cross HC2131, but uses a villosum as the pod parent
which has a much flatter than normal dorsal sepal. It is impossible to
predict which of these two crosses will be the best, but both should be
extraordinary. No discount on this limited availability cross.
HC2228 victoria-mariae - (victoria-mariae
'Marriott Victory' AM/AOS x Self) 16-18cm...$85
Simply put, this is a selfing of the largest, darkest, best formed
example of this species that I know of anywhere... and the highest ever
awarded!
